A fabulous fully working 1920’s longcase / grandfather clock by the Colonial Manufacturing Co. Registration no 12538.
This is a nice quality clock in original condition set in a mahogany case.
I believe the 8 day movement to be German made as this was standard for this manufacturer, the dial is clean and a typical style for this era.
The Westminster chime mechanism consists of 5 graduated chromed cylinder tubes one being a striker for the hourly chime, the others for the quarterly hour chimes.
3 brass weights are hung on a regular pulley mechanism, they are substantial, the largest weighing 28lb.
The large brass banjo style pendulum keeps a regular balanced rhythm.
The case condition is original no repairs or broken glass, it is structurally sound and sits firm.
There are lockable access windows on both sides of the clockface and obviously the main door.
Measurements; 83″ high, 22.5 ” wide & 15″ deep.
